This week was the season premiere of the new Jon and Kate plus 8, season 5.
To be honest, I don't watch this show religiously or anything (mainly because I don't watch TV programming on the TV unless it's live sports) but if I catch Jon and Kate, I'd watch it. Funny thing is, I hate children. Not all children, but enough to comfortably make a broad statement like that.
So anyways, the big draw this season is of course the chance to witness what will inevitably be the public implosion of this marriage as a result of the many rumors and scandals involving Jon and Kate's infidelity. It's one thing to all gather and swoon over a litter of cute little mixed babies, but dammit, nothing brings humanity together like watching our favorite TV idols slowly descend into the fiery abyss. We all knew it was going to end though, didn't we? I remember tuning into a few episodes, watching Jon and Kate give their couch testimonials and plainly seeing the distress and grief in their eyes. Granted, I didn't think it was going to end with college coeds and bodygaurds. It seemed more to be going the route of becoming homicidal/suicidal.
I haven't posted in a while and I don't really have a point to this post. I suppose there could be some moral questions to be extracted from a situation like this. Like could you endure a loveless marriage? Is divorce ever an option? Should parents stay together "for the kids"? Can infidelity be forgiven?
I'll answer those in a more organized thought process another time...haha. I guess for now you can leave me a comment!
