Recently in conversation with friends, this question was brought up:
Do women fall for successful men or men with personality?
No brainer, all women want are wealthy men and I say wealthy because "successful" is just an implicit term women use to describe the wealthy men they wish to be with. No doubt personality is important but that's secondary. I see females getting their knickers in a knot over this statement but let me put it this way, society is based on this being fact. Women want successful men and there exists successful men simply for that reason. There's no shame in being shallow. To a woman, a man's worth is not some abstract subjective value that needs to be wrestled with, it is objective and it's in your bank account. The man is no better, because he runs the rat race with no other intent than for raising his chances for getting some. All the ephemeral moments and emotions in between are just by-products of the ultimate goal.
Let's do a case study:
"Jane Doe" says she's only interested in older men. Someone who, "is settled down, has his life together and mature".
Translation?
Again, these may seem like justified demands but women use these phrases as a ruse implying that they want a man who is not just settled down but settled down in his own place with his own shit. Settled down-edness is actually a function of material items - how convenient. When a woman says she wants a "mature" man, what she really means to say is "degenerate" and "castrated". How's that for personality? What kind of traits do women think makes a mature man? A woman will always say, "I want a man who understands me, treats me well, doesn't argue and isn't petty". Seeing that no man actually understands women, what that really means is that she wants a man who is apologetic and unconfrontational. A man whom in his youth had his self-respect so beaten and battered that it is no longer recognizable. In other words: a trainable doofus. Relationship "experience" teaches a man nothing but to shut up and behave.
So there you have it. Women are money-grubbing, blood-sucking, materialistic vampires that use sex as a weapon and turn men into zombies.

LOL, whatever, men are equally shallow. All they want is some vag, and then half of them bounce afterwards. It's a give and take relationship. :p
In my own weak defense, I look for chemistry first. Success is a happy by-product. I'd rather be able to afford my own shit anyways.
you'd think a successful woman would enjoy the freedom of conscience to date whomever they choose but it turns out successful women usually go for even more successful men.
While I tend to agree, I also have to point out the times when intelligent, attractive females have long standing relationships w/ totally douche, unemployed guys living out of their parent's basement. I'm not how that fits into the theory.
